Puglia – Gargano Promontory (August 2016)
Even though we mostly spent our time at the beautiful beaches of Puglia, we still managed to see most of the picturesque towns of the Gargano promontory:
- Vieste, the promontory’s most famous resort featuring dozens of great restaurants, the rock of Il Pizzomunno, trabucco and a lighthouse on a little island near the entrance to the harbour (http://www.vieste.it/)
- Monte Sant’Angelo, including the famous Santuario di San Michele, a magnet for pilgrims (http://www.santuariosanmichele.it/)
- Peschici (http://www.peschici.it/peschici/peschici_ing.asp), a white town with nearby Spiaggia di Zaiana (http://www.vieste.it/puglia/spiagge/spiaggia-zaiana.php)
